About
Colin has an interdisciplinary academic background in American studies and completed his doctorate at the University of Sheffield in 2009. His primary research interests concern issues from within contemporary sporting cultures, with a particular focus on the representations of sport within media contexts.
He has published academic articles and book chapters on a variety of sporting topics – including basketball and professional cycling – and presented research at international conferences.
Colin is currently undertaking further research activities into the representation of sporting cultures within documentary film.
With 15 years’ experience of teaching at Higher Education institutions, Colin is committed to the student learning experience alongside developing opportunities for students to engage with external partners from sporting industries.
